The trust "Vishnu Education Foundation” was formed in 2007 by Er. Vishnu Saran, the known philanthropist, and like- minded philanthropists of this region. They joined hands and took upon themselves the social causes and established charitable hospitals and vocational schools. They felt the need on the turn of the century to train the technical man power for the new millennium and established engineering institute. Then promoters founded Meerut Institute of Technology in 2007 under another charitable trust Vishnu Education Foundation.
To be known as a technical institution that disseminates knowledge and futuristic-skill sets in line with the evolving technologies and prepares students with positive attitude, innovative approach, universal values & ethics and a knack to serve the community.

The promoters realizing the need to train young men and women for the new millennium for the industrialized India under the shadows of Globalization of trade and thus established Meerut Institute of Technology at Meerut in 2007. The institute is approved as per latest guidelines of AICTE since July 2010, working in the name and style of MIT Group of Institutions, in 8.598 Acres of land under the preview of AICTE in a phased manner. This Institute is being promoted keeping the above cardinal principles in view Academic excellence, in serene calm environment, state of the art laboratories equipped with all facilities, are its hall mark.
Vishnu Education Foundation aims to reduce poverty by providing rural youth with skills and training for wage employment, thus moving them from poverty to productivity.
